MEET THE FOUNDER

Mrashi Karumba played for the GB Senior womens team and was raised in the UK

I started my basketball career in playing for my secondary school in north London. I then went on to play college basketball at Barking Abbey sixthform which was a specialist basketball academy. During my two years there I gained a full basketball scholarship to play at university in the US.

I played professionally for two teams in  Europe and then settled back in the UK playing in the WBBL. (Women’s British Basketball League)

Basketball to me is more than a sport, it saved my life, taught me discipline and gave me a purpose.

The most important thing for me is that children are happy and feel part of a community, while learning valuable life lessons that will help them in their future.

I didn’t have the opportunity to play the sport from a young age, so I’m here to give children the opportunitye to have an earlier start. If they want to pursue it in the future or simply just to have fun and make friends. For me, it’s really important to give back and invest in the younger generations.

AJ Roberts is currently a professional basketball player and the Head Coach at a basketball academy in London

I’m originally from America where I secured a full scholarship for Basketball but now reside in London with my family.

I want to continue to help inspire, motivate & teach the younger generation the game of Basketball but also to help mentor them along the way.

I’m very passionate about inspiring and teaching the game of basketball and I want to see the sport grow even more here in the UK! I have competed and have won at every level I’ve played at and I believe now is the time to pass on my wealth of experience for the next generation of kids who might have the same dream I had when I was their age.

Regardless of skill level or ability we welcome all children.
I enjoy seeing the kids have fun, that’s one of my main goals, but I also like to challenge them at the same time that way they’re growing and developing within the game of basketball. I’m looking forward to meeting and teaching the next generation of “Ballers” here at Dribble & Dream !
